DOMINION MANDATE DAILY DAILY DEVOTIONAL – A HOUSE OF PRAYER
Bible in one year : 1 Cor 7-8

Anchor Text: Is. 56:7

“These I will bring to my holy mountain

and give them joy in my house of prayer.

Their burnt offerings and sacrifices

    will be accepted on my altar;

for my house will be called

a house of prayer for all nations.”
In an age of complacency and spiritual deadness, how can revival be ignoted in our hearts in the Church?
One key ingredient in prayer. Revival is not possible without consistent. concerted prayer. It is the factor that brings us to repentance and it is throught prayer that we are able to seek the LORD
It is during that sweet hour of prayer that we are able to connect to the divine, especially through worship because without it, our hunger for God will neve rbe satisfied.
We are God;s temple, God’s house; to have him come in the house and abide, we must be given to prayer, and then we will be joyful in His presence and there will be revival in the Land.
Prayer:

LORD. Let a fresh passion for prayer be ignited inside of me. Let the garment of intercession fall on me and may I have no rest till I have touched your heart, in the place of prayer, in Jesus name.

Psalm 42:1,Psalm 14:2.

Bible in one year: Isaiah 51-55.

Long ago, David wrote about hunger for God in what we now know as psalm 42 verse 1 and 2.

The deer has a strong smell and it makes the deer a very easy prey, but water hides it’s smell, and so the only way to avoid being eaten is to get to the water as soon as the predator shows up. Also, the deer pants for the water Brooks for refreshment when it is thirsty, the deer can perceive the smell of water from very far away, and when it perceives that smell, it instinctively begins to run towards that source of water, and until it gets to the water source it does not stop running.

This type of desire David described in this scripture is the type every one of us should have. It’s not something unusual or only reserved for just a few persons. The sign of a healthy Christian life is thirst and hunger for God at all times. In the natural when you lose appetite for food it is a sign that you are sick.

God can pass over a million people just to reach out and touch that man or woman that is truly hungry for Him. (Isaiah 44:3). The bible tells us that “……satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things” (psalm 107:9). But we must meet the requirement of the word in order to receive the promised reward: A genuine hunger for God is the hunger for God’s presence. Having a deep relationship with God comes out of a strong desire and hunger for His presence.

PRAYER: Oh Lord, teach me your ways. Let my heart pants after you as the deer pants after the water brooks. Create in me a thirst which nothing shall satisfy but the fountain of your eternal love.

The scripture tells us in 2peter 3:9 that “The Lord us not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
The greatest sin that separates us from God is sin. It is one thing that can cut short a revival or even prevent it from happening at all. When there is sin in our lives, it pushes us away from God and we are not able to partake in benefits of a loving relationship with the father.

However, God said in his word that as long as we come to Him in repentance; confess and forsake our sins; then he is sure to accept us back into his loving arms. There is no sin that us too big for God to forgive, the blood of Jesus is potent enough to wash away all our sins.

PRAYER: Take your time to come before God now and confess your sins to him, ask Him to cleanse you with the blood of Jesus.

A VERTICAL HORIZONTAL RELATIONSHIP.

Psalm 27-29

Thursday, March 16, 2017.

Bible in one year: Matthew 5:23-24.

A fundamental part of our relationship with God is our relationship with our fellow man. God’s nature is love and He has called us to show this love to everyone around us.(1John 4:20)

From this passage we can see clearly that walking in love is a prerequisite for walking with God. You cannot claim to love God and yet you hate your fellow man. So as you make peace with God also make peace with your fellow men. Forgive those that offended you and ask forgiveness from those you have offended. Make restitution, return to people what you forcefully took or stole from them.

It is the primary duty of every child of God to extend the goodness, mercy and grace that we have received from God to others. It is not because of our goodness we have been forgiven and loved by God, it is because of His nature and the sacrifice of Jesus. God loved us even while we were sinners. We also are to overlook the faults of others and treat them with the love of God. The way we treat others is not based on how we feel about them. Love is a command just as we are commanded not to kill or steal, we are commanded by God to love.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord for pouring out your love in my heart. Help me to express that love to other people. Give me the grace to love even difficult people.

Revelation 2:5.
Wednesday, March 15, 2017.
Bible in one year: Ruth.
In a relationship sometimes people ask their spouse these questions: what happened to us? How did it get this bad? Where did we miss it? Christianity is a relationship and not a religion. God is asking us today where did we miss it? What happened to our first love?
If we don’t remember from where we have fallen, we will not know how to get back. The first thing we need to do is to remember the love initially had for God’s word, prayer, fellowship and witnessing, we will be inspired to action. The second step to return to our first love is to ‘repent “. It means to change ones thinking. It is clearly connected with changed behavior, as seen in the following phrase ” and do the deeds you did at first.
Jesus is asking you to change your attitude toward your attitude toward your love for him. We are to reverse our lackluster love into a burning love for Jesus. Think about the dept if love you have for him. Change your apathetic love to an appreciating love for Him. God wants to be closer to us than we want to be” Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.” But if we don’t Jesus says that He will remove us from a sphere of effectiveness or possibly out of existence totally. If we do not repent the Lord would remove our ability to bear witness for Him.
PRAYER: Dear Jesus I know I have hurt you so much by turning away from my first love. Please dear Lord I am sorry, I make this prayer with the help of the Holy Spirit to return to my first love and to be faithful to your service, so help me Lord. Amen.

Jeremiah 4: 3-4. Romans 2:26(AMP)
Tuesday, March 14, 2017.
Bible in one year: Genesis 36-39.
Circumcision of the heart comes from a deep hunger for righteousness, it is not a wishful thinking. Just like in the physical when male child is 8 days old, his parents will not wishfully think of circumcising him, they will take their child to the hospital, although they knew it will be painful for that child, but because they know it is for good of that child and that their child will be grateful when he grows they will ignore the present circumstance for the future joy.
God is telling us today through his word to take away those hidden sin that makes us fall short of His glory, sins like malice, gossip, hatred, stealing, fornication, adultery, idolatry, lying etc. God is ever willing to forgive us only if we can turn to Him and ask him to forgive us.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I come to you as I am, Lord I’ve tried to do this on my own but it didn’t work. My father I confess the sins of my heart to you today(go ahead and confess those sins) I ask that you cleanse me and make me whole again. I ask that you give me the grace to live a holy life, this I ask in Jesus mighty name. Amen

Dominion Mandate Daily Devotional;
ONE THING GOD CANNOT RESIST.Psalm 51:17.
Monday, March 13, 2017.
Bible in one year: 1 Corinthians 3-4.
This Psalm was written by King David after he committed adultery with Bathsheba and her husband killed to cover his sin (2Samuel 11). It has been said of David that he sinned big, but repented bigger. He is a model to us if what real heart repentance looks like. He wrote this Psalm as an agonized cry to God for forgiveness. (psalm 51:17)
The meaning of this is connected with the verse just before it. (Vs 16) David is stating that there is nothing we can offer God to appease Him when we have sinned. Rituals and animal sacrifices is not what God is looking for. God desires true repentance. Many a times we miss this truth. Rather than repent, we try to “clean up our act,” give more, pray more, or busy ourselves in other religious activity in the hopes that God will finally “get over” being mad at us. In psalm 51, David is saying that God wants none of that. External religious activity cannot replace internal, heartfelt contrition. 1 Samuel 16:7.

David reminds us that the only path to forgiveness is a broken heart and a humble spirit (Matthew 5:3). When we throw ourselves on the mercy of God, He delights to lift us up (Luke 18:13-14). When we openly acknowledge our sin against God, turn from it, and cry out for cleansing, God promises that He will hear us and forgive (1John 1:9)
CONFESSION: I refuse to let the devil deceive or distract me from confessing my sin when I fall.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, search my heart thoroughly and rid me of anything that will not give you glory. Am so sorry oh Lord for all the wrong things and create in me a clean heart and purify me for your glory. Amen

Dominion mandate daily devotional:

GOD’S ARMS ARE STRETCHED OUT.

Malachi 3:7

Bible in one year: Mathew 23-25.

God has promised never to leave nor forsake us but many times we often forsake Him choosing to be led astray by our desires rather than remaining submitted to his will.

Whenever we stray away from God and break fellowship with him, life becomes a struggle. We find ourselves devoid of the strength to face life’s challenges, the peace that passes all understanding and the joy that brings true fulfillment and satisfaction. In such state Jesus words in John 15:5 become much clearer; we can do nothing apart from him. The scripture of today’s reading highlight a promise from God and a principle for returning back to him. To restore broken fellowship with God, man must take the first step towards reconciliation. Whenever we find we have strayed, it is through returning to him that we restore broken fellowship. We return to him through genuine repentance and seeking his face again. When we do this, God meets us halfway and communion is restored.( James 4:8)

Let’s us always remember that God is never far from us. No matter the degree of our mistakes, he is a loving father who is always waiting for us with open arms, bidding us to come back home to his presence where we belong. You can always retrace your steps back to his embrace and be guaranteed that the abundance of his love and grace will still be accessible to you.

PRAYER
: Father help me to find my way back to you whenever I make the mistake of straying away and departing from your presence. Even as I come to you in repentance, seeking you with all my heart, draw me close to you again. Let your blood cleanse me from every sin which has created a barrier between us that I may enjoy sweet Communion with you once more. Thank you Lord

DON’T MAKE EXCUSES FOR YOUR WRONGS.

Dominion mandate daily d

evotional;DON’T MAKE EXCUSES FOR YOUR WRONGS.

Hebrews 12:1

1 Thessalonians 5:22.
Bible in one year: Psalm 24-26.

There are certain sins in our lives that we have to face squarely and consciously turn our backs on. Until we bring a genuine repentance and a total separation, we would simply ask for mercy and end up going back to the same sin. Our Bible reading talks about the sin “which so easily ensnares us” (Hebrews 12:1-2).

An ensnaring sin is one that we find very hard to resist, the one that poses a very potent temptation. We overcome such sin by the help of the Holy Spirit and our strong will and discipline against it. When we avoid all circumstances that could lead us into temptation and make conscious efforts not to be ensnared, we discipline our flesh and strengthen our will against the snares of the sin. Repentance is not when we simply tell God we are sorry. It comes with sincere resolution never to return to that sin.

1 Thessalonians 5:22 tells us to avoid every kind of evil. We are to consciously avoid sin and not expose ourselves to environment where we can easily be trapped. We should abstain from all forms of carnality and habits that can encourage us to sin. Apostle Paul advised us on how to break away from sin. (Phillipians 4:8)

PRAYER: Holy Spirit help me to live a life devoid of sin, I acknowledge that I cannot do it on my own but by your grace alone. Help me to live a holy life.
